It's been a busy few days. I had a lovely lunch at the Langham Hotel with Princess Anne and Joanna Lumley, and also about 500 members of the fashion industry at the UK Fashion Exports Awards. We won - The High Octane Award for Export. Earlier in the week I had been called an 'eveningwear legend'. I am also 'party queen of London'. It's all too much and I feel that I am bound to disappoint. I was going to wear the emerald satin dress with bat wing sleeves I recently purchased, however it unexpectedly drove my daughters into hysterics the night before. I love to see them laugh, but as they dribbled on my Louboutins spluttering that I looked life a 'great big leaf' I did get annoyed and disheartened, and finally left in a little black Miu Miu number showing too much leg and not enough décolleté. Alas even with my new "legend" status and High Octane accolade I was totally outshone by Joanna who truly is a 'legend'. In her husky, musky voice she uttered "Pistol Panties" (another nominated company who, guess what, make pants and other little things) and the whole room was on their knees. I love getting awards. I won one in LA a few years back and had to make an impromptu speech in front of half of Hollywood. As I sat waiting my knee-shaking could have ruptured the Sant Andreas fault. Luckily, when it was announced, all I had to do was shake Her Royal Highness's small, gloved hand, and run.
