This week, there's been a buzz surrounding the London opening of the American lifestyle emporium, Anthropologie. Lucky to have an invitation to the sneak preview, I headed to the three-storey space and checked out the heavenly homeware and women's fashion collections, which up until now have only been available in the US.
Anthropologie's style is vintagey and whimsical. Everything feels like a one-off and there's an eclectic mix of accessories combining floral and bird motifs, bold patterns and quirky graphics. Many of the pieces are perfect for personalising you wedding day - like these affordable monogrammed mugs (£6 each). Combine the initials of you and your groom and fill with flowers for a sweet display on your cake table.
If you're looking for creative ways to dress your reception space, then the visual displays instore are sure to inspire. On the day of the press opening, we were treated to afternoon tea, which in itself was a spectacle. Vintage cakestands filled with cupcakes, mini sandwiches and scones were laid out on trestle tables, and tea was served in mismatching teacups and saucers. For a unique wedding breakfast, do the same - invite guests for an afternoon ceremony and then instead of a sit-down reception, offer a informal Champagne tea. Guests can mingle while they graze.
Head to the Regent Street store and experience the Anthrolpologie magic for youself.
