I was staycationing again last week and I took the opportunity to start my annual Christmas present makeathon. This year I'm DIY-ing everything, from lap cushions to chutneys, shopping bags and drinks coasters (sorry mum, dad, et al). I nipped to HobbyCraft (hobbycraft.co.uk) to pick up various bits and while there, I stumbled across 8in papier-mâché 3D letters (£1.99 each) that would make fab reception decorations. You could spell out your married name, or perhaps the word 'love'. The letters are plain, which means you can decorate them to match your theme. If you're having a winter bash, you could cover them in glue and roll them in glitter so they twinkle under the lights. For a spring celebration, you could paint them with polka dots, stripes, block colours... whatever you like. For added wow-factor, you could even attach helium balloons to the tops of the letters so they hover above. Enjoy!
