My big event this week was the 2010 Couture Collection launch at my London, Chelsea boutique. Monday was checklists for Champagne, canapés and goodie bags. Emmy from Emmy Shoes was to join us and Magpie Vintage, Polly Edwards and Dolecka were confirmed to exhibit their gorgeous jewellery.
When all were present and correct I took my weekly stress-busting stomp over the hills but promptly put my back out pulling off my walking boots! So on Tuesday, it was physio to the rescue! Thankfully by Wednesday my five-inch platforms were back on just in time for launch night!
Nonetheless, with the English winter doing its worst - tipping with rain and blowing a gale - I couldn't help worrying whether anyone would even venture out on such a foul evening. I should have known better! Being an occasion for brides-to-be, the shop was packed and buzzing within the hour! Emmy Shoes and various pieces of jewellery were tried on enthusiastically! Everything got a great reception and the Champagne was flowing freely!
Models presented our dresses and everyone loved the new guipure lace and spotted tulle designs. Especially well received was a full Belgian spotted tulle overskirt revealing the slender, inner lace sheath dress (Catriona); and a sequin-mesh fishtail (Sienna) that was also my finale design at the Designer Wedding Show.
I was also thrilled that amongst all my guests was the acclaimed stylist, Harriett Jagger who came to the launch. She's now asked me to contribute to The Clothes Show Live in December. Wow! I'll tell you all about it next week!
