British couturier Bruce Oldfield's gowns adorn Hollywood
stars and international royalty and his services to fashion were
recognised when he was awarded the OBE in 1990. He has just opened
his first flagship bridal boutique on Beauchamp Place.
My style is...
classic, simple elegance with a contemporary twist. I specialise
in couture and custom-made pieces using traditional methods
building the garment around the person from a foundation garment
outwards.
A perfect bridal gown should...
be the most memorable of her life.
I decided to launch my three storey bridal emporium
because...
wedding dresses have become a very inspiring area of my business
and as this area had grown it was becoming obvious that we needed
to give brides their own space so when number 34 Beauchamp Place
became available directly opposite the existing showroom, I
couldn't resist it.
Brides visiting my boutique will find...
wedding dresses - ready to wear, custom made and couture, outfits
for mother and bridesmaids, exquisite accessories for the entire
party. Across the road at 27 is my Couture boutique where we have
the season's collection of evening and special occasion wear, and
accessories. Most importantly the workrooms where EVERYTHING is
made are also in number 27 and 28.
My biggest achievement to date is...
having had the opportunity of dressing some of the worlds most
glamorous women from Princess Diana and Queen Rania of Jordan to
contemporary icons Taylor Swift and Pixie Lott.
You probably won't know this but...
as well as designing the dress I can also design the actual
wedding and reception too - so the attention to detail that begins
with the dress is carried throughout the whole occasion.
