Feel uneasy asking for cash instead of china? Don't be. According to a survey by The National Wedding Show (www.nationalweddingshow.co.uk), 70 per cent of couples now opt for money and vouchers instead of a traditional gift list. It's no surprise: more and more couples live together before tying the knot, so there's little need for a towel set or a kettle. Can't be swayed? You could always ask for donations to your favourite charity instead.
