Aside from getting obsessed with room capacities and corkage prices (yes, the venue hunt is still ongoing), one of my favourite wedding pastimes at the moment is inspiration gathering... I'm turning into one of those girls with a wedding file!

Aside from Brides (natch), the internet is a never-ending click-through of wedding inspirations and my Mac's screengrab function (like taking a little picture of the screen. So useful! Shift+apple+4 for all those Mac-users) is my new best friend.

The Americans, as ever, are one step beyond with their wedding blogs from quirky weddings, DIY projects and cute details - they have it all supersized.

Some of my favourite sites of the moment are:

100 Layer Cake ( - beautiful and original real weddings, which are brilliantly detail heavy. Some of my recently grabbed ideas include: miniature plants in vintage teacups under glass domes for table centres, bright weddings with orders of service printed on different coloured paper, test-tubes of favours (seeds, sweets) and lots of uses for vintage books. One of my favourite features is their colour theme mood boards - from brights to Marie Antoinette pastels, these are your print-out-and-ready-to-go-guides.

Once Wed ( - which is again is stuffed full of inspiring real weddings, plus DIY projects.

Brooklyn Bride ( - again, you guessed it, real weddings but also lots of cool ideas especially for original invites and save the dates (although frustratingly many of the American suppliers aren't available in the UK but I'm thinking 'craft project' alert...)

Snippet & Ink ( - which offers daily (yes, daily!) wedding inspiration.

So set yourself aside a lunchtime or two (or three or four) and get clicking! Now if only I could find a venue...
