It was never going to be a sedate affair when 'the other Kate' married her rockstar beau Jamie Hince, but last weekend, when the eight-foot high metal fence was erected and the 300 guests started to arrive, we knew that Miss Moss was about to host a wedding extravaganza.

The model wore a bespoke dress and a pretty boho veil created by recently shamed designer John Galliano but perhaps the most shocking thing of all was the fact that Kate, renowned for her wild partying ways, chose a church ceremony in the village of her Cotswolds home.

The groom, dressed in a pale blue suit and suede boots was accompanied by his 'best woman,' former girlfriend and The Kills bandmate Alison Mosshart, and Kate chose her daughter Lila to head up the 15-strong bridesmaids party, which also included Sadie Frost's two daughters, Iris and Rudy.

Celeb friends - Vivienne Westwood, Sir Philip Green, Jude Law and hairdresser James Brown - were then invited to Kate's home for a £500,000 reception in six marquees, each adopting a different theme - London's famous Groucho club or Kate's favourite bar in Jamaica, Jake's - with entertainment from burlesque trapeze artists, giant transvestites and music from Shirley Bassey, Iggy Pop and Beth Ditto. The celebrations were said to last three days. One final knees up before she settles down to married life? We think not!
