When it comes to decorative details for my wedding, I have to admit I'm guilty as charged for going overboard. But it doesn't mean you have to go over budget, if you know where to look.

Obviously, cheap homeware behemoth Ikea was my first port of call... and I was back there this weekend for one last whizz around the Marketplace. Currently on my credit card bill are:

This vintage-y looking cake stand - a bargain at £14.99 (www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/40125550), which I'm going to use for displaying, er, something on our evening buffet.

Traditional-looking clip-top jars (a bargain at 91p - www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/40065867) will keep my chutneys for the cheeses looking stylish. Not to let the cheese-table side down, the cheeses themselves will be on these wooden chopping boards (£3.19 for two - www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/66190109) and crackers in these vintage-esque serving dishes (at £5.19 for two, I bought two sets - www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/20125551).

Also in the trolley, somehow, appeared this chalk board (£15.99 - www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/50089231), which I plan to write the menu on and prop against one of the trees near the marquee. Take out the metal chalk holder and pop some flower stems in tiny vases in the bit at the wooden bit at the bottom and hey presto: decorative feature. And only narrowly missing the trolley were these stopper top water bottles (£2.03 - www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/50108908), which I'd seen in a real wedding doubling up as table numbers with the number stenciled onto the glass.

Away from my Ikea addiction, is a current obsession with clothes pegs of all shapes and sizes (pictured). Giant ones to stand the table name postcards in; and mini ones (99p for 50 at Rymans) to clip the escort cards to ribbon strung between two trees in the garden. Can I find a use for normal-sized ones too?!

Only two weeks to go on Saturday - my credit card can rest easy after that!
