Earlier this week Chanel made us swoon to the rhythm of Florence Welch's siren voice at Le Grand Palais; the designs gliding down the catwalk, beautiful as ever. Today we're dreaming of the beauty offerings of the show: pearls and the new Les Vernis colours.
Created especially for the spring/summer 2012 collection are three beautiful (and highly covetable) new Les Vernis nail colours aptly named April, May and June.
June is a rich tangerine colour perfect for the height of summer, April a rich fuchsia to warm up your senses and May (our favourite) is a beautiful shade of bubblegum pink, pictured.
In an interview with Peter Philips, Creative Director of Chanel
Makeup, he spoke about translating Karl Lagerfeld's vision into
reality: "To meet the inspiration of this fantastic underwater
fairytale feeling and the mood of lightness, Karl wanted shine and
pearl. He made some beautiful sketches where the girls had pearl
studded ears and pearls following the spine. I did pale, glowy skin
with a pink/coral blush, a wet shiny eyelid finished with black
eyeliner, slightly glossy lips and randomly placed pearl
We think this shine-matte balance with a hint of colour is the perfect way to float into 2012. We can't wait...
