Beauty Editor Alice du Parcq shares a clever little trick for applying 'invisible' foundation:

"I really don't like the effect of appyling base with a traditional foundation brush: who wants to paint their face like a garden fence? The flat-pack stiff hairs don't blend effectively and leave streaks. Instead, try using a soft rounded blusher brush like Dior Backstage Makeup Cheek Brush. Tip a drop of foundation liquid into your palm and swirl with the brush, or directly into a compact foundation. The effect is softer and more sheer with an almost invisible veil on the skin. Do the same with bronzing or highlighting fluids, and crème blushers too."

"As for cleaning your brush, swipe it over a wet wipe and leave to dry, then once a week give it a good wash with a gentle shampoo."
