The proposal was perfect. Back in April, my husband-to-be got down on one knee under the stars in the garden of a beautiful hotel in Ascot and popped the question. A high pitched 'Yes, please!' was my answer and from that moment on, we gained the beautifully smug status of being engaged.
Five months on, we are floating out of that initially dreamy haze and Operation Wedding has commenced. With a husband-to-be, who works abroad, much of the organising will be left to me, and I am thankful for my trusted team here at Brides who I'm counting on to guide me (and keep me sane) through the planning stage.
As Lifestyle Editor I have plenty of ideas when it comes to the flowers, décor, stationery and wedding cake, but there are lots of other 'white zones' I know less about. I'll be keeping you posted as I make my mind up - and change my mind - along the way. By sharing my experience of being a bride-to-be I hope to inform and inspire you and would welcome any feedback.
Let the wedmin begin…
