Ready To Party

Now that our wedding save the dates have been sent, it's full-steam ahead with planning the Big Day; or more precisely, the Big Night.

Finding a DJ for the reception party has been at the top of our 'to do' list for a while and I'm excited to have booked Matt Maurice of Matt Maurice Event Music. He's the one that made sure the Vanity Fair party rocked during the Cannes Film Festival, and has played alongside an impressive list of bands including Duffy, Sophie Ellis Bextor and Fat Boy Slim.

Next up is choosing the tunes we'd like played on the evening, and while it sounds like an effortless task, having scribbled down our top 10 all-time favourites, we were in need of inspiration.

Luckily Matt has a music database of over 60,000 titles covering every popular genre for us to browse online.

We can choose our entire playlist or just add some suggestions to help him create our perfect party soundtrack.

There's an option to highlight songs we don't want played on the night (genius!) and if we need ideas for the all-important first dance as well as a memorable exit song, then Matt is on hand to help.

To recreate a nightclub vibe, we're installing moving head lights that will add sweeps of colour to the bare white walls and a cool LED starlit dance floor to mark out the dancing area from the chill out zone.

It certainly sounds like the perfect setting for an amazing party - all we need are our family, friends, and, of course, a well-stocked bar.
