Kokosalaki is well known in the fashion world for her
delicately draped, pin-tucked and pleated designs, making her a
firm favourite of red carpet ladies including Kate Hudson and Sarah
The London based designer is now launching into the white zone as she is due to launch her first ever bridal collection, exclusively on Net-A-Porter this month.
"The great thing about designing bridalwear is that it is just about making something that is beautiful," she told us. "And it is such an enjoyable process; it puts everything you've learned into practice. You can just focus on the dresses, not think about trends or anything and just make beautiful pieces."
And her dresses are certainly beautiful: named after classical Greek heroines and drawing inspiration from trademark shapes of traditional Haute Couture, as well as the fluidity of ancient Greek sculptures to create a collection balancing lightness and movement.
Her fabrics, including precious sand washed silks, delicate tulle, and hand pleated jersey are incorporated with Swarovski Crystal luminous accessories. To compliment the bridal collection, Sophia has also designed and created signature pieces of sterling silver and gold plated jewellery with the renowned goldsmith Ilias Lalaounis, which will also be sold exclusively on Net-A-Porter from mid-February.
