More couples are choosing to marry out of season, according to top wedding venue Loseley Park.
The Surrey stately home, which hosts over 80 weddings each year, has noted this break from tradition.
Loseley Park's owner, Michael More-Molyneux commented: "We're finding that people are markedly more open to getting married on, say, a Thursday in February. It's definitely a growing trend and it's partly because conventional timing seems less important nowadays, and partly down to price."
Midweek weddings, Monday-Thursday, during 'low season' (between January and March) can cost up to five times less than a Saturday ceremony during peak wedding periods between May and September.
Winter weddings are on the up and up, with over 30% of weddings at Loseley taking place at off-peak times, not least because of the attraction of the Christmas and winter decor available, but also the guaranteed sunshine for long-haul honeymooners.
