California hosted more than Holly Valance's wedding this weekend: Anne Hathaway and her beau Adam Shulman also exchanged vows on the American West Coast in a low-key ceremony.
For her Big Sur wedding, the bride wore a gorgeous custom-made off-the-shoulder Valentino gown with a vintage-inspired veil and romantic white bouquet. The groom looked very handsome in a black tuxedo and black bow tie.
Italian designer Valentino Garavani confirmed just last week that he had designed a wedding dress for Hathaway, who he described as "like my daughter".
The couple exchanged vows in front of 150 of their closest
friends and family, and surprisingly few celebrities, on a private
estate on the Californian coast.
Taking inspiration from nature, the ceremony and reception featured branches and $100,000 worth of pretty blooms as decorations. It is said that Natalie Portman's wedding planners, Yifat Oren and Stefanie Cove, created a fairy-tale weekend for the Les Miserables star which began Friday with a rehearsal dinner at the Ventana Inn & Spa.
Hathaway had previously said she would wait to marry until 2013, saying that 2012 would just be 'too busy' with her film commitments (The Dark Knight Rises was released earlier this year and she has been busy filming Les Miserables, which is due out this winter) - but she's surprised us all!
