It has been a serious case of back to the shop floor for me in the past few weeks.
As the March/April issue of Brides was going to press, I stepped away from my proofs and mood boards, and starts organizing a luxurious White Tie Ball in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. Basically, Brides magazine was throwing a wedding party!
There was a guest list full of the industry's leading designers to consider, invitations to send, a venue, cake, flowers and favours to choose. And, of course, what would we all wear?
We worked with some of the country's most talented people to create what several guests said was the most stylish party we had ever thrown - hopefully it will inspire some ideas for your own bash.
One highlight for me was By Appointment Only Design's towering gypsophila displays set off with smaller arrangements of narcissi and frilly honeymoon tulips. "We chose gypsophila en masse as it is making a huge comeback," said director Javier Salvador. "It is often used as a filler flower but in large columns it has a snow quality that is opulent but also incredibly cost effective."
I must also give a special thank you to our executive retail editor, Arabella Dupont, who did an incredible job as unofficial wedding planner. You can see the full results for yourself on pages 220-222 of the March/April issue on sale now.
Best of all, we've now raised £74,000 for charity, something we are all so proud of.
Enjoy the issue and don't forget to tweet me what you think @JadeBrides.
