After a long week of celebrity wedding news (Avril Lavigne tied the knot on Monday and news of Kerry Washington's secret ceremony emerged yesterday) we now extend our congratulations to the lovely John Barrowman!
Following the Supreme Court's decision to overturn the controversial Defence of Marriage Act in California last week, the Doctor Who actor raced to the altar to tie the knot with his partner of 20 years, Scott Gill.
The couple had entered into a civil partnership in the UK in 2006, and announced their upcoming ceremony in a video taken in Barrowman's car, which he posted on his WhoSay account on Tuesday.
"We're on our way to get married," the Torchwood star excitedly announced to the camera, before bursting into a rendition of Air Supply's 'All Out of Love' - which conveniently came on the radio.
Quite rightly, the pair couldn't contain their excitement and filmed an additional video, in which Barrowman said: "We're getting married in the state of California. Thank you, Supreme Court. About time you made it legal!"
After the ceremony, the couple posted a photograph with their marriage certificate with 'We are now legally married. Thanks for all your great wishes. JB and Scott.'
