The sun shone brightly as we headed to the Grosvenor Hotel this morning to see Ian Stuart's latest occasion wear designs.
Unveiling the Spring/Summer 2014 designs with a formal presentation of over fifty new designs, Ian clearly had a stylish mother-of-the-bride in mind: "I designed the collection for a sophisticated client who wants to look and feel like a million dollars," explained the designer.
His latest collection featured trousers, separates and more tailored designs, as well as the matching hats created in collaboration with Richard Designs.
There is a real sense of individuality about the designs, with the possibility of getting jackets, dresses and hats separately or as a complete outfit.
Fitted dresses with Ian's signature ruching and amazing cover-ups feature throughout, with the welcome addition of refined pearl embellishments dotted on the neckline, sleeves or bust line.
A colour scheme of caramel, grey pearl and pink clay give the flattering designs a very classic and regal feel; while ultra marine, fuschia and platinum silk add a tropical sense to others.
Beaded tulle embroideries stand out with bold and beautiful colourings while rosette appliqués are used sparingly.
The hats, of which there are eight different designs, can be ordered to match specific gowns, too! Overall very, very fabulous.
