Welcome to our special white issue, a celebration of the chicest and most eternally stylish wedding palette.
We've dedicated the September/October 2013 issue to showing you the many ways to work white across your special day - from the decor to the flowers, from the food to everything you wear. You'll love our white accessories story on page 125, our all-white fashion section, starting on page 223, and the most wearable white beauty treats on page 107.
And what better issue to announce the arrival of White by Vera Wang, a collection of 15 dresses which will go on sale here when David's Bridal, one of America's largest bridal retails, opens its first London boutique this October.
One of the most affordable gowns is also one of my favourites - a stunning fit-and-flare crinke-chiffon dress that's just £675 (pictured).
An off-the-peg wedding dress is not for everyone. At these prices you can expect less expensive fabrics and not as much material in the layering of the dress. You also won't get the kind of hand finish and made-just-for-you fit that comes with a more bespoke or couture gown, but nonetheless the arrival of David's Bridal to the UK is big news.
Having been in business for more than 60 years, around one in three American brides now walks down the aisle in a David's Bridal gown. Its positioning as a one-stop shop dressing brides, bridesmaids, flower girls and mums for weddings and life's special occasions, along with a huge focus on affordability (the collections range from £80 to £1,650) has proved hugely popular with for those who want an off-the-peg dress.
Vera's involvement is a real coup and will be followed by a collection of dresses by New York designer Zac Posen in February, with other British collaborations expected.
As well as the own-label David's dresses and accessories, you'll also be able to choose dresses by Oleg Cassini, Melissa Sweet and both Galina's Signature and Collection gowns.
You can book a consultation at the Westfield Stratford City store and try on gowns in your size (4-30 will be stocked), with most available to take home on the day.
Having viewed the collection this week, I'm sure it's going to be as popular with British brides as it's been with the Americans.
