April is an exciting month in the bridal calendar - not least because of the arrival of spring, blossom and daylight. April is also show time for the bridal fashion world...
Oscar de la Renta, Jenny Packham, Carolina Herrera and more of the nuptial industry's top names will be unveiling their new collections (more on that soon...) One name noticeably missing from our show schedule this season? Vera Wang.
The international bridal queen will, for the first time ever, not be hosting a show at Bridal Market. (Cue: The sound of our hearts breaking)
Vera is instead taking the digital route, filming a visual presentation with director Gordon von Steiner of Chanel Rouge-, Lanvin- and Steven Meisel-fame.
The video will make it's debut on April 13th (don't worry, we'll have it covered) and shown globally in her freestanding bridal stores.
Wang has even said she doesn't envision ever doing bridal shows again: "When I started shooting the ads and going to shoots like I used to, the ad campaigns not only reflect what I authentically feel and is me - although I am not a 26-year-old bride. It is who I am as the designer and perhaps the creative director and the artist in me," she told WWD.
Whilst the film is sure to be beautiful, we can't help but feel a little upset about this... Hopefully the dresses will cheer up though.
