If there are two things Pronovias knows how to do well (read: outstandingly well) it is how to put on a show, and how to make a beautiful dress.

Closing Barcelona Bridal Week with a bang, the Spanish brand pulled out all the stops. Their models included Karolina Kurkova, Constance Jablonski, Sigrid Agren and Kristina Romanova; sitting front-row were Bar Rafaeli and Camila Alves (aka Mrs Matthew McConaughey) and the show itself was special too, for this year they celebrate their 50th anniversary.

Pronovias president Alberto Palatchi spoke about the brand's legacy, its values - love, passion and aspiration - and its 50 years of 'dressing dreams' ahead of the show. Having seen the 2015 collection, it's safe to say that that legacy will continue for a long time yet...

Karolina opened the show in a stunning illusion neckline fishtail gown, followed by Jablonski in a golden, gleaming strapless gown. Next were Sigrid Agren and Janeta Samp, wearing identical versions of the same long-sleeved lace dress - except one was floor-length and the other short.

Designs were clearly influenced by the archives of the famous brand, as would be expected for such a landmark celebration, but they were beautifully executed and wonderfully modernised. Bustles were transformed into chic additions, trains made as long and dramatic as possible and veils kept short and chic.

The catwalk was as grand as always - over 2,000 spectators attend each year - and this year the set was fashioned after the Seville flagship store, a World Heritage property and famous Mudejar-style façade. Through a display of images and lights, the building was transformed into the 'Pronovias Dream Factory'.

Once those fifty dresses made their way down the runway, the Atelier team was brought out to greet their many admirers by the engaging Kurkova. More than a few of the new design team seemed reluctant to bask in the limelight, but the standing ovation they received went a long way to convince them otherwise...
