Every girl deserves to be put on a pedestal, doesn't she? Marchesa put their brides in such positions (albeit in a more literal sense) at their St Regis hotel presentation this morning.
Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig were busy holding court with a film crew, but that didn't matter: there were plenty of gorgeous gowns to occupy us.
Their Fall 2015 collection features subtle new silhouettes and hues for the duo. While many will no doubt comment on the champagne strapless gown with cascading draped silk organza skirt and the textured cocktail frocks, the standout looks were the ones that were most 'them'.
The strapless tea-length cocktail dress with tricking silk organza ruffles and a high-low hem, for example. Or the asymmetrical draped silk bazar ballgown, perhaps. But most beautiful of all was a high collared, re-embroidered lace peplum jacket worn over a thin strap re-embroidered lace mermaid gown and tulle skirt.
Adding to that romantic sentiment were the veils in tulle, crystal and pearl embroideries. Those without veils either wore the chicest of chignons or wore their hair loose with little tufts of gypsophila adorning messy manes.
