Let there be light! Reem Acra's words, not God's; but with the panache of the designer, it may well have been the work of divine inspiration.
Reem opened her show (set against yet another floral statement wall of roses by celebrity florist Preston Bailey) with a short sleeved, embroidered cropped top in silk georgette with a matching skirt. Her point? You can do anything, especially on your wedding day.
Ornate corsets and embroidered lace tops worn over voluminous silk taffeta ball gown skirts followed. Each delightfully adorned with cascading pink and white flowers carried like trailing bouquets and weaved into the model's hair. Some girls even had battery-operated lights lighting up their floral crowns like halos.
Floral accents and glowing skin gave the girls a very Dolce-esque feel, but the lavish embroideries, sexy sheer illusion dresses and horsehair accents on her frothy skirts were all Reem.
