Brace yourselves ladies! The exquisite British bridal designer Phillipa Lepley is collaborating with La Perla, a.k.a. the brand behind seriously covetable, super-luxe Italian lingerie.

All Phillipa Lepley brides can choose a divine complimentary pair of briefs from the brand. The perfect way to complete your big day look, no?

And if that wasn't fabulous enough, every twelve weeks La Perla is offering a Lepley bride a divine Maison slip, embroidered with the bride's new initials.

We caught up with Phillipa to find out more about the partnership.

What does luxury mean to you?

"Luxury to me is a highly personalised and flexible service tailored specifically for you. For example, the luxury of being able to choose elements from various frocks that work best for you and the ability of the team of seamstresses to work around your own individual requirements such as your time frame, and then add any special requirements. For one bride, we incorporated family jewellery in to designs. At Phillipa Lepley we go the extra mile to ensure you feel you are wearing your dream dress."

What's your top tip for making the most of your figure on the big day?

"If you have a couture dress which is made to your measurements completely, there is nothing more flattering. That is the way we work at Phillipa Lepley - brides have numerous fittings at our atelier and by the time their dress is complete they will feel like it has been sprayed on, perfectly enhancing every curve. If a dress designer can get this right, the figure is beautifully enhanced and defined in a unique way.

Our female form-defining corset is second to none too. The moment most brides are laced in they are smitten with the shape it moulds the torso in to. It really does reduce the waist by approximately 2 inches and it also helps with posture.

We spend a lot of time toiling and fitting our dresses to the highest level. A bride needs to commit to 7 fittings for a couture Phillipa Lepley frock to be seamless."

How did the idea for a partnership with La Perla come about?

"We met whilst working with Quintessentially Weddings last year. From the minute we saw each other's collections we both felt a mutual appreciation, and there was a wonderful synergy. Our brides are looking for the same thing - absolute quality and the best of the best service. I am passionate about introducing my brides to likeminded artisanal producers and understand that they don't only need to think about the dress! The La Perla lingerie perfectly completes their wedding day attire, so it felt right to collaborate."

Which era are you most inspired by?

"1940s , 1950s - synched waists - Dior is a big inspiration- terribly feminine - clever use of fabrics. Victorian corsetry also inspires me."

Which bridal fabric do love most and why?

"I mostly work with silk satin, silk organza, duchesse satin, silk crêpe  and French laces…… all of which are of the highest quality. But my favourite fabric changes all the time, depending on who is wearing it! Every woman is different and it really depends on their shape, skin-tone, and what the bride feels confident in. No two brides are ever the same. The specific 'shade of ivory' is vital. If the colour is too tonal with the brides skin, you can lose the bride. A contrast brighter ivory is often better - the face will be lit and highlighted more."

Which bridal trends do you love at the moment?

"I love French lace which continues to be popular - it is so flattering and it is completely timeless. Plain, satin dresses are also en-vogue. They can be easily accessorised to change the look from day to night by adding a diamanté belt or a different shrug."

Beautiful lingerie is… "Feeling good from inside out."

You probably won't know this but… "Phillipa Lepley has been designing dresses for over 25 years and just loves the tingle moment of finding the right dress for each bride."

The perfect wedding dress is…  "One you feel totally comfortable and yourself in and of course that enhances your shape and doesn't wear you - your face is the most important thing to shine."

How important is lingerie when you design gowns?

"Our corsets mean that the vast majority of our brides don't need to wear a bra as our construction offers all the support you could require. Choosing a pretty pair of briefs is essential though, and it is also one of the fun parts of preparing for your day! Although we are widely known for our dramatic fuller-style dresses, we do also do fluid, figure hugging dresses so going somewhere which has a choice that includes the more invisible briefs is important. La Perla's bridal collection consists of such a range of beautiful designs which make you feel totally spoilt. They have something for everyone, and the quality of the fabrics used is unparalleled. Their made to measure service which is now available is wonderful. I'm loving their monogrammed service too."
