Vera Wang knows how to do drama. Last season's dramatic architectural gowns have given way to a leaner silhouette, with lingerie and sheer fabrics at the forefront of this latest offering from the bridal maestro.

The designer has unveiled this latest collection with an atmospheric video titled 'Hotel Madrid'. Directed by Gordon von Steiner, soporific music plays as dreamy brides trail lace from sheer, elongated gowns. That is until a new world is revealed when a bride steps into a brighter scene full of cool-girl silhouettes and dramatic skirts.

THE LATEST FROM NY BRIDAL MARKET

The pared-back collection of 15 gowns range from a pale ivory hand appliquéd mermaid gown to the dress that has to be the star of the show:  a black crepe strapless sweetheart gown in silk crepe with a flamenco-style ostrich plume skirt. Other looks boast the designer's signature floral embellishment and her trademark layers of tulle.

With black accents through the whole collection from a wide grosgrain bow sash to embroidered silk detachable epaulettes, the new Vera Wang bride is edgy yet undoubtedly romantic.
