Is there anything more thrilling than diving into a new magazine? Yes, there is: diving into a bridal magazine - the one you've been gazing at in the shops for months. And now you've said 'I will', you're finally on team Brides. So welcome and congratulations because you've landed a bombshell fashion and beauty issue that will sweep you off your feet.
From all your emails, tweets and Facebook posts, the message is clear: you want more dresses, more accessories, more maids' looks and tons more shoes. We listened, and added extra pages to our fashion section and built more galleries on our website so it's easier than ever to find your look. Nothing makes me happier than getting a tweet from a reader telling me she's found her dream dress via Brides - so if that's you, get in touch!
For the first time ever, we've put together the definitive Brides Beauty Awards because more of you are choosing to do your own wedding make-up. This isn't just any 'best of' feature: this is the ultimate shopping list for the most beautiful, long-lasting and high-quality products, double-judged by award-winning make-up artists and brides-to-be, who religiously wore the products every day for eight weeks. As you can see from these photos, the beauty cupboard was bursting with gorgeousness (it took everything in me not to do a supermarket sweep). So whether you're looking for a skin-transforming foundation, a no-smudge mascara or the softest bronzer on the planet (or the lot!), turn to page 111 right now.
The other good news is that, having bought this issue of Brides, you are among the very first to lay your hands on two much sought-after tickets to the annual sell-out Brides The Show. It also means you have a head start on all the other visitors - you'll be able to sign up for an upgrade to a VIP ticket, which will land you a host of benefits, not least a guaranteed front-row seat at our must-see catwalk show, glass of champagne in hand! For more show details and information, visit www.bridestheshow.co.uk - I'll see you there.
Aside from putting this bumper issue together, I've also just returned from New York where I was taking a first look at the S/S16 bridal collections and what many British brides will be wearing to their weddings this year and next. From Carolina Herrera to Oscar de la Renta, Jenny Packham and Vera Wang, I saw an incredible array of gowns that will excite you all.
Then, it was time to catch up with our colleagues at US Brides, editor-in-chief Keija Minor and chief revenue officer Michelle Myers. The four of us co-hosted a designer dinner at Thomas Keller's three-Michelin-starred Per Se restaurant in Manhattan's Time Warner Center and shared an evening celebrating the new collections with, among others, Claire Pettibone, Romona Keveza and Mira Zwillinger - see our top 15 gowns on page 130. Brides-to-be are in for a serious treat come September when these new dresses land in the UK.
The July/August 2015 issue of Brides is on sale now!
