Nostalgic for his native Japan in springtime, designer Tadashi Shoji was inspired by the abundance of cherry blossom, wisteria, peonies and iris that bloom. The result? A collection that was as picture perfect as the flowers themselves.

A colour palette of fresh white, through sugary pinks, and the whole violet and purple spectrum, the collection was dreamy, ethereal and feminine throughout.  With celeb fans such as first lady Michelle Obama already in tow, this will be a sure fire hit for red carpet starlets.

MORE FASHION INSPIRATION

Nothing escaped being appliqued and embroidered with strategically placed florals to modestly reveal a hint of skin. Stand out looks included a belted appliqued shirt worn with a tea-length skirt in crisp organza and  a delicately demure, pastel pink bridesmaid-worthy dress. And then there were the heavenly layered just-sheer-enough floor sweeping gowns, cool two-piece outfits and an all-in-one crepe trapeze dress and cape. Divine!

But my favourite? The romantically cool finale outfit with long tulle skirt, peony appliqued shell top and matching opera-sleeved duster coat - fit for a summer bride for sure.
