That was the reaction we were hoping for when you came (in your thousands!) through the doors of Brides The Show this season.
Because just as you are trying to create the most memorable day for your friends and family, so we were aiming to design a weekend of wedding planning visually more brilliant and inspiring than anything you have seen before. And if the meltdown you created across our social media was any indication, I think we succeeded!
From the giant red, light-up heart by Hey Style that greeted you at the entrance, to the ceiling of 900 cloud-like balloons from Bubblegum Balloons in The Imagination Room, which housed our incredible workshops, as well as statement white bouquets by florists, including Mary Jane Vaughan, Grandirosa and Hiding In The City Flowers - the show was the place to explore, create and be inspired, all hand-in-hand with the Brides team. This show, more than any other, was packed with ideas everywhere you looked. As our guests, you watched a series of talks On The Sofa from Royal photographer Hugo Burnand, and A-list designers Jenny Packham and Amanda Wakeley.
Then you were off past the life-sized fantasy unicorn, zebra and ostrich-feather trees borrowed from Aynhoe Park (probably the most photographed elements of the show) and on to Lookbook Live, where our team brought the beautiful receptions pages of this magazine to life with the help of some of our most trusted contributors. Rebel Rebel's fresh meadow flowers and Sublime Cakes' pretty croquembouche were the real crowd-pleasers.
But the highlight for many of you was our Secret Garden catwalk, which transported our visitors on a 'whimsical and magical journey; the kind of thing you can only experience in dreams', according to Anthony Marklew, from florists By Appointment Only Design, who florally styled the area for us. Models entered through a flower arch, while you sat surrounded by birch and willow trees, courtesy of Palmbrokers, with your toes in the real grass floor by Wow Grass!
Now I just need to work out how we're going to top all of that at next year's show! In the meantime, get 30th September - 2nd October 2016 in your diary for our next amazing weekend of bridal indulgence. See you there…
