For Spring/Summer 2017, Houghton designer Katharine Polk drew inspiration from the shapes and effects created by layering fabrics.
Girly, romantic silhouettes, such as an empire line blush gown, were juxtaposed with more edgy looks. A full-length black lace catsuit was layered under a white gown with Houghton's signature cut-outs and plisse tulle frills.
Delicate lace in both white and black, broiderie anglaise, tulle and embellisments made for a modern and covetable collection for fashion-forward brides, paired with white netted catsuits for a subtle, sexy edge.
The stand out looks for us included a d'esprit tulle see-through midi with cape detail and a lilac grey one-shoulder gown with lace bodice and tulle ruffles cascading down the skirt.
Cool, contemporary and effortlessly stylish, these looks are not for the faint-hearted.
