J. Mendel is the go-to designer for the fashion-forward bride and a favourite among the likes of Taylor Swift and Emma Watson. A master at adding a contemporary edge to the traditional wedding dress, Gilles Mendel mixed it up with lace, draping and embellishments as you've never seen them before.

Grecian drapes and vertical ruffles were given the J. Mendel twist with a cross-over at the waist and a keyhole cut-out.

While there was plenty of white lace, it was at opposite ends of the spectrum and ranged from classic florals to a modern diagonal, a particular favourite.

Necklines were many and varied, from off-the-shoulder and strapless to a plunging halter and high neck.

The designer didn't hold back when it came to the beadwork. Silver lily appliqués were combined with golden leaves on one particularly daring dress, while white petal and leaf embellishments made a simple gown extra special.
