A star-studded guest list, featuring the likes of Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian and US Vogue editor Anna Wintour, joined the pair at their Beauty and the Beast themed wedding.

Serena looked every inch a bridal princess in her Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding dress. And like many brides, it wasn't the design she originally thought she'd pick. Speaking to Vogue, Serena said: 'I flew to London to meet with [Sarah Burton] and ended up falling in love with the ball gown silhouette, which is completely the opposite of what I ever thought I would choose for myself. I loved the idea of doing a really spectacular ball gown, and it has turned out to be such an incredibly special piece.'

But it wasn't the only dress the Tennis superstar rocked on the big day. For the reception, Serena walked out in a beautiful Versace gown complete with beading and feathers

Vogue US revealed that after the ceremony, guests were invited to their seats to the tune of 'Be Our Guest', at four long tables named after Serena's Grand Slam wins.

Dinner was followed by Serena's third dress: a short Versace gown for the evening entertainment and the couple's first dance, which according to Brides US was a mash-up of 'Tale As Old As Time' and 'If I Can't Have You'. Serena also changed into sparkly trainers for the biggest surprise of the night: an illuminated white carousel fairground ride for all guests to to ride on.

As for the venue, the Contemporary Art Center of New Orleans, Serena told Vogue: 'Alexis really wanted to do it here. It's got a heavy European influence, it's fun, and has amazing food. He just loves the vibe. The venue [...] was a decision we both made. Painting and art is something I'm really passionate about, so it just felt natural and different to do it at a contemporary art museum.

After the wedding, Alexis took to Instagram to share the vows he spoke to Serena with the world:

Pass us a tissue! Congratulations to the newlyweds on one of the coolest celeb dos we've ever seen, and certainly one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings of 2017.
