Instead we are having about 40 guests to the ceremony at 3pm and then serving them all dinner at about 4.30. Although we aren't party people I don't want people to just leave after dinner, what sort of things/ entertainment can I get to set the mood and encourage people to stay later and just mingle with everyone? I don't want people to be bored and the evening to be forgettable. Thanks :) 2 Natalie, Derbyshire View » We are getting married in October and unfortunatly many of our family and friends will be unable to attend our wedding. I would love to broadcast our wedding live to these people (we have a private venue and father in law is marrying us so no problems with consents) but have no idea how to do this - budgets are tight so would like to know if DIY would be an option or if hiring someone to do it is the way to go - and if so what are people who would do this even called, and how would I find them?! 2 Fiona, Edinburgh View » Hello, I hope someone will be able to help me... I have my wonderful wedding dress sorted but would like to find something 'bridal' to wear to my rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. I'm looking for something that isn't too expensive but like the idea of having another wedding dress. Does anyone know of any less expensive wedding dresses? Possibly short dresses? Many thanks for your help! 3 Anne, Sudbury View » My partner and I are getting married next year and after endless internet searchers I think I may have found the dress!! It is however made in the Philippines and involves video linked fitting - not something I'm entirely happy to commit too. Just wondered if anyone has any experience/advise regarding bespoken wedding dresses in the uk or recommendations as too who to contact?? 1 Danielle Williams, Manchester View » I've got a question regarding Catholic marriage ceremonies. Myself and fiance are Catholic, I'm British and he's Colombian - both our families want us to have a Catholic ceremony in our own respective country, but we know this isn't possible! Could we have a Catholic wedding in one country and a wedding blessing in another? Or is the only viable option to have a civil wedding in one country and a convalidation in another? 1 Natalie, Sevenoaks View » Hi, I am struggling to decide whether to wear my hair up or down for my wedding in Barcelona in May. I have naturally curly hair but always straighten it everyday and its very fine. I had my hair trial and she tried 2 styles for me, one was down with curls and lots of volume and the other up in a chic bun similar to Audrey Hepburn. I thought I wanted my hair down until she did the up-do and now I can't decide. Both of the styles are very different to how I usually wear my hair and my dress is slight fishtailed and has a vintage lace look. Please help. 2 Sarah, london View » I'd really appreciate some help and advice about food for our wedding. We're on a really tight budget and have planned to serve our guests a three course dinner at 6.30pm (wedding at 3.00, canapes at 4.00 & dinner at 6.30). I am hoping this means that we won't need to feed everyone later on (reception finishes at midnight). Is this acceptable or are people going to get hungry and fed up? 4 JJ, Nottingham View » We are getting married in December and want a cold weather honeymoon over Christmas and New year, can you recommend romantic places to go and stay? Most people just recommend Iceland but this isn't really for us! 5 Emily, Canterbury View » I'm Canadian and my fiance is English. We are planning a wedding in Canada, but want to make sure it will be recognised back in the UK. We have also been thinking about having an 'unofficial' wedding in Canada followed by a simple registry office ceremony here if that is easier. Is that common? I'm just not sure which option to go with! 2 Christine, Harefield View » Can anyone offer some advice! We are having 100 people to our ceremony and I wondered what the etiquette was for inviting partners. A handful of our friends have girlfriends or boyfriends that we don't know (either well or at all) but I don't know whether it is rude to not invite them...my problem is that if we do it means our numbers are squeezed and less of our actual friends will be able to come? Advice please!!! 6 Harriet, Surrey View » Hi everyone! So me and my partner are planning on getting married next year, but are already planning as we need to have an idea of how much to save.. My partner has come up with a guest list which is just under 100 people, yet mine is only 35 names long - he seems fine with this and yet I am not. Even though his list can be cut shorter, his number of guests will overshadow mine greatly and I feel that this is a little unfair and that it may end up being "his" day as opposed to "ours". I dont have many more people that I could invite (unless some of you lovely people want to be my friend and come along?! ;) ) so what do you suggest that I do?! 4 Daniel, Portsmouth View » I'm looking at having a manor house venue for our wedding breakfast and reception but I'm worried because there are lots of separate rooms I.e the bar, dancing room that people will spread out and the atmosphere will be lost. Has anyone had any experiences of this? 2 Stephanie, Birmingham View » We're getting married in September and need ideas for a minimoon after the wedding before we decide what to do for our honeymoon in January. We're hoping for a relaxing trip straight after the wedding... any ideas? 2 Charlotte, Camberley View » Having a coral theme but struggling with decorations. Any ideas welcomed Kat 2 Kat, Lincoln View » I have a dilemma regarding the composition of my bridesmaids. I had decided on 3 adult bridesmaids (2 close friends and a sister in law) and one flower girl (one of the bridesmaids daughters). My future mother in law has suggested to my fiance that we include my fiance's cousin's children as bridesmaids/flowergirls (2 girls under the age of ten). I was not sure about this as I had decided already on this and do not know these children particularly well. I know they are sweet and well behaved but the idea of including children from the grooms family had never occurred to me and I am not sure whether I should feel obliged to agree to this. I want to take the grooms family into consideration with the wedding planning but is this involvement too much? 4 Ella, London View » I am looking to get married in Italy in July but I want to plan it myself. We just want a simple civil ceremony in a town hall in Rome, but I'm not sure where to start with regards to paperwork and booking the venue etc? 1 Georgia, Derby View » I am trying to plan an outdoor, rustic wedding. However, I love the color coral and I'm having a hard time coming up with a color pallet. What colors do you suggest for a September rustic wedding with coral? 6 Sami, Wv View » I am getting married in Australia and I am struggling with invites. I know which guests will definately be able to come and am still going to send them invitations. But for the family I know wont be able to come because of the distance (such as my grandparents) I would like to send them something which tells them they have been thought about and not forgotten. Any ideas? 6 Hannah, Chester View » Do you think with a guest list of about 150-175 people it would be too much to make my own favors? 3 Kerri Kalinski, Wappingers Falls View » During the reception we have hired a traditional ice cream bicycle to give our guests something sweet, and we are having a wedding breakfast and buffet in the evening. I have heard mixed reviews about having canapes: are they worth it or not? Will my guests be disappointed if we don't have any canapes? 3 Andrea, Cheshire View » prev 1 2 3 4 5 next
