I am getting married next summer and I'm just starting to form a guest list. There are three people from a group of friends that I really want to invite, but there is one other person whom I'd rather wasn't there on my big day. I don't want to create drama or hurt anyone's feelings... so I feel like I have to invite her. Is there anyway to get around that?

  • Just explain that you have a tight budget and have to keep the numbers at a minimum. Apologise and just invite her to the afters, hopefully they will get the hint and not go to you afters! She will have to understand, otherwise she'll look like the one causing drama :)

  • I agree with Lisa! If you would rather that she wasn't there then you don't have to invite her - perhaps invite her on the hen do or a simple party/dinner event afterwards. It is generally considered rude for anyone to ask for an invite to a wedding, so (thankfully!) the cards are in your hand!
