All The Trimmings

David proposed at home Christmas day 2009 so we had 18 months to plan our day. We knew we had lots of talented friends around us so we wanted to showcase all their amazing skills. We wanted a relaxed affair with a garden party theme. Rownhams House was the first venue we found and the owners were so fantastic we stopped the search there. The lead up to the wedding was busy for all! David spent time restoring a vintage Land Rover to take us both (separately!) to the venue. I spent time collecting vintage crockery and décor to compliment the afternoon tea menu and evening BBQ. My mother hand-made all the stationary and my best friend put hours into making THE dress! Close friends all chipped in with jewellery and cake making. The boys all put up the marquee in the garden leant by David’s cousin and everyone chipped in to decorate it. The hard work all came together and was enjoyed by family and friends. A fabulous time was had by all from the minute everyone woke up to the last dance.

  • It was a perfect day despite a shower or two!! The vintage tea party theme was a great success and everyone had a wonderful time. I had so many lovely comments after the wedding from the guests - it was well worth all the preparation. And of course, Nicola looked stunning but then I am biased - I am her Mum!!!
