Village Wedding

We live in Australia and had to plan our wedding from overseas… but my friend sent me Brides Magazine which was really helpful. It was a real village wedding; everyone helped out. The confetti was dried rose petals collected from local villagers & the evening music was Reb Mugots, the local band, & they were excellent! The cake was made by a local, Pam Hawes & was a three-tiered ivory cake with pink cascading roses. The catering was first class & all sourced locally. I made cupcakes as favours which were placed in ivory boxes with a heart window tied with pink ribbon. The flowers were done by Wendy Symes & were exquisite. The theme was pale pink and cream. We added Australian twists to the wedding which everyone loved! The choir sang a version of ‘You’ve Got the Love’ which was excellent. The ceremony was in the church next door to my parent’s house & the reception in a marquee in the garden. The sun came out which was great as it had been hailing that morning!
