Could 'his-and-hers-tans' be the next big thing? International Tanning Expert James Read seems to think so.
James is the beauty industry's undisputed tanning guru - with a list of clients that speaks for itself: from Rosie Huntington-Whitley to Lady Gaga, Lara Stone and Rita Ora (just to name a few…)
"I have noticed a big rise in the his-and-her tans - couples coming in together for pre-wedding and holiday tans," explained the tanning expert. "Today alone I've already had four couples come in!"
James uses a gentle layering method and his own brand of products, that ensures that his tans not only fade evenly, but also look natural and - most importantly - healthy.
The rise in couple tanning is due to a matter of contrasts, explains James: "The brides comes in first for trials and soon the groom has to come in too so that their complexions aren't too clashing or uneven. They are after a very natural looking tan; it's all about a pop of colour to the skin that enhances the complexion to a healthy glow without becoming overpowering or false."
"More grooms are getting tans than ever before, too. Now it's about the groom looking good and having a tan to look naturally healthy."
There is no doubt that healthy-looking skin glows in those all important wedding pictures, but would your groom go for a fake bake? Seems like the trend says 'I do' to matching tans.
