Although Ephelia is the biggest resort on Mahé with 267 suites and villas, the fact they are spread over 120 hectares of gardens between two bays (one to the north - which overlooks the Port Launay marine park - and one to the south) and grouped around four pools, means your patch of paradise feels more like a resort within a resort than part of a mega one.
The wide selection of rooms means there's something to suit every style and budget. At the 'more money for cocktails' end of the scale, Junior Suites are modern tropical with dark wicker furniture and flashes of animal print.
For more privacy, opt for one of the Beach Villas on the north-bay side, each with a pool and outdoor lounge. Enjoy the free snorkelling, head to the Spa Village for a Top-to-Toe Traveller's Massage, and take your pick from the five restaurants.
WOW FACTOR: Don't fancy a walk to the spa? Spa Villas have a dedicated in-room treatment area.
