The town of Kalkan on Turkey's Lycian Coast was, until the '80s, just a handful of houses on a magnificent bay.
Nowadays, there are more-than-a-few holiday resorts, but the bay is just as stunning, and boutique hotel Kalkan Regency has the most glorious views. You can see the vista from almost every spot in this intimate resort, which is why we've picked it as a knock-your-socks-off honeymoon hotel. And not only is the romance seriously high-level, the family factor is there in quiet abundance.
This may be a chic hideaway, but children are welcomed by the staff with open arms. For 2015, two more split-level Regency Suites have been opened, spacious enough for the most raucous gathering. Or why not go all out and book the Family Pool and Garden Suite? With three bedrooms, a private decked area complete with pool and floor-to-ceiling-windows for gazing at that view, you'll want for nothing else.
On a Wednesday night, be sure to gather by the pool and let owners Nuri and Masuda throw you a barbecue/disco you'll never forget. It's also not too expensive, as a destination and a hotel, so book the (brilliantly complimentary) day out cruising on a gulet and grab a table at local restaurant Kuru's Place. The owner, Huseyin, will even pick you up from the hotel - all at a very reasonable price. We're sold.
WOW FACTOR: Children and adults alike will love gazing through the in-room telescopes for hours on end.
GO: Exclusive Escapes (exclusive www.escapes.co.uk) offers seven nights from £750, B&B. Includes flights, transfers and a day's gulet cruise.
