When it comes to your gift list there are so many options. (So, so many!) But the most asked questions we receive at Brides HQ on the matter isn't 'where should I go?' Instead it is: 'How can I ask my guests for cash instead of toasters and spoons?'

12 MONTH PLANNER: WHAT TO DO WHEN

Asking your nearest and dearest for cold hard cash isn't easy though. There's the matter of the correct etiquette etc, but we've found the solution to end your gift list-woes and remove the stigma attached to such a delicate subject. It is called Patchwork.

Born out of founder Olivia Knight's own frustration with her wedding gift list, the idea is you design a 'patchwork' of images that represent what you want.

THE SUPER GIFT LIST

Your honeymoon is the natural choice, but you can use it for anything you want (read: endless possibilities!) Saving up for a flat? Re-doing your kitchen? Buying a pony? Anything.

Set up your patwork, send it off to your loved ones and they pick and choose how they want to spoil you. It can be anything from £100 for a night in a hotel, £50 for a fancy meal or £5 for two beers on the beach, for example. You collect the money via PayPal and spend when you want.

Gift list, done!
