What do you get if you cross a newly opened Cotswolds hotel with the greatest TV show on earth? Only a brilliant, boutique hotel bake-off!

The Fish Hotel (the newest little sister of the much-loved Dormy House) is launching a Bake-off Challenge to hens. In teams, you and your girls will be set the task to create the most scrumptious afternoon tea that will then be judged by The Fish's answer to Paul Hollywood! Think scones, a show-stopper cake and a tray bake… Points will also be awarded for originality and creativity, and someone will be crowned the Star Baker, and awarded a bottle of champagne. And then you get the scoff the lot, of course!

So what's so special about The Fish? Well, Brides loves Dormy House and - surprise, surprise - its sister is fast becoming our new favourite sibling. Summer's chicest rural opening is part boutique hotel and part village-on-a-grand-estate, you can't help but play out a full on 'wahoo, weactuallylive in the Cotswolds!' fantasy for the entire duration of your stay.

Located on the same privately owned 400-acres as the celebrated Dormy House and the exclusive eight-bedroom private house hotel, Foxhill Manor, which opened in March this year (yes, we've reviewed both) - the Farncombe Estate is fast becoming the go-to for the London crowd decamping to the country.

With 47 comfy rooms spread throughout three newly refurbished buildings, and the kind of décor that has you reaching for your notebook, The Fish Hotel has all the hallmarks of a stylish country getaway, minus the hefty price tags. Rooms start at £99 and even include a hearty cooked breakfast. Nice.

So, for some laid-back luxe - with icing on top! - book yourselves into The Fish and, bakers, prepare to bake!
