Discerning travel bible Condé Nast Traveller has just released its Hot List 2010, covering the 66 coolest new hotels in the world. Out of those 66, Viceroy Anguilla has made it as one of the top five destinations for honeymooners...

The latest offering from the LA-based Viceroy Hotel group (and its first in the Caribbean) is taking the island by storm. The formidable, 166-room Viceroy Anguilla has been designed by the inimitable Kelly Wearstler, but is a departure from her boho-chic California style. This is a truly international, all-singing-all-dancing beach resort with a pared-down simplicity that feels part Miami, part Bali, enlivened by a touch of Africa. The resort straddles two lovely white-sand beaches, with the key public spaces, such as Coba, the signature restaurant (excellent seafood), and the Sunset Lounge (for Champagne, rum and Cuban cigars) on a rugged headland between the two. One of the hotel's highlights is Half Shell, a great little bare-foot beach bar carved into the cliff just above the sand. One section of the resort was still under construction during our visit, including the spa, beach club, children's club and two more restaurants. Everything should be open by May 2010.
