We loved The Zetter Townhouse in Clerkenwell when it first launched in 2011 (as did the A-list set; Benedict Cumberbatch and Daisy Lowe are fans), and the brand spankingly new Marylebone property is just as delightful.
Opening later this month, and located on Seymour street in the up-and-coming area of Portman Village, this is the latest chic retreat to escape to after a city wedding. With just 24 bedrooms and a distinctly quirky feel to the whole place, this un-assuming Georgian townhouse is a world away from the glossy grande dames that surround it. In a similar vein to the Clerkenwell property, there's a fictional character that inspires the playful décor and fun atmosphere - it 'belongs' to wicked 'Uncle Seymour' (apparently a lovable rogue and gambler) and the hotel is stuffed with his various antiques, curious art finds and collectibles.
Each bedroom is decorated differently (but with tall sash windows and dramatic high ceilings as standard), so you never know quite what you're likely to find. However, you can expect a whirlwind of colour (contrasting reds, pinks and oranges) and adorable vintage touches such as old writing desks, maps on the bathroom walls and mid-century rotary dial phones. Nice.
And if you can't get a room - which is likely, it's set to be seriously popular - it's worth a visit anyway for post-wedmin cocktails in Seymour's Parlour. More like having drinks in an intimate private members club than a bar, prepare to be entertained by fabulous mixologist Tony Conigliaro - apparently hailed as the Heston Blumenthal of the cocktail world. An off-the-wall boutique treat, this is the perfect pad for those of you seeking plenty of hipster vibes for that all-important first-night. Enjoy.
