Looking for a mother-of-the-bride dresses or outfit? There are so many boxes it's got to tick. The perfect mother-of-the-bride dress needs to be smart (yet not too office-like), glamorous (yet not too young), and beautifully flattering (without out-shining the bride, of course). It's a tall order, but it's one that so many high street shops have got covered. Fashion-forward while still remaining classically stylish, these are the stores we'd hot-foot it too. Click through the gallery, and discover our favourite high street mother-of-the-bride dresses below.

Coast

Coast is our go-to for standout wedding guest dresses, but the high street store is right at the top of our list for incredible mother-of-the-bride pieces, too. Alongside their great (and well-priced) dresses, don't forget to check out their range of coats, too. We're big fans of the Mirren coat, £159, for spring/summer 2017. Keep your eyes peeled for their collaboration with the Royal Horticultural Society this summer, too!

WHERE TO LOOK FOR BRIDESMAIDS DRESSES ON THE HIGH STREET

Phase Eight

Having recently launched a full-scale bridal collection with a range of wedding dresses, it seems only right that Phase Eight have a killer mother-of-the-bride line too. Finding dresses with sleeves can sometimes be a little trickier than you'd imagine, but Phase Eight are the crowned Queens of flattering upper-arm coverage. This Belita dress, £250, is just the ticket.

Whistles

We don't know about you, but we're obsessed with the new-season offering from Whistles. This British designer has a bit of a trend-led reputation, but trust us: it's for all the right reasons. We've got our eyes on their Amanda lace dress, £219 - it's perfect for a spring-time countryside do.

Hobbs

Workwear stalwart Hobbs is a secret weapon when it comes to mother-of-the-bride dressing. If you're attending a wedding in 2017, there's a seriously high chance she will be wearing Hobbs.  We love their flattering floral-print shifts, like this Natasha dress, £149.

THE BEST HIGH STREET WEDDING DRESSES

Ted Baker

Known for graphic floral prints and pretty details, Ted Baker's skater-cut dresses make them one of our first ports of call for all things wedding. In fact, the brand have recently branched out into full-blown bridal with their new 'Tie The Knot' collection of wedding dresses, bridesmaids frocks and accessories. For spring/summer 2017, our eyes are firmly fixed on their Calliie cropped scalloped edged jacket, £275.

Monsoon

Colourful, inspired by forgein climes and oh-so-slightly boho, if your're mum to a bride getting married abroad, off to Monsoon you must go. This beautiful tomato red Arista maxi dress, £109, would come into its own on a balmy Mediterranean beach.

Marks & Spencer

Ah, good old M&S - the home of meal deal lunches, percy pigs and... absolutely fantastic mother-of-the-bride dresses. Make a beeline straight for their Limited Collection range: it's a fashion editor's best-kept secret. The rich forest green hue of their Per Una floral lace bodycon dress, £65, makes it look three times its price.

Jacques Vert

Mother-of-the-bride specialists Jacques Vert have seriously upped their dress-based game this season. This printed drape cape dress, £169, is stylish and different enough without running the risk of being something that will date.

LK Bennett

Famous for dresses that look five times their price tag (and give Victoria Beckham a run for her money) LK Bennett is the stylish mother-of-the-bride's label of choice. We're more than just a little bit in love with their Darcie blue silk dress, £295, for a late-summer countryside do. Pair with tan or nude accessories to keep the vibrant print alive.
