If you dream of a beautiful floral cake for your big day, then Peggy Porschen is really your best port of call.
Her latest cake collection - the Floral Wedding Cake Collection - is certainly the best place to start, too.
Kate Moss's cake maker has a passion for flowers that is clear to see, and her talent at making the most realistic of sugar craft blooms is truly beyond belief - you almost have to touch them to check that they aren't real flowers. (We did, and can attest to the fact that these are sugar craft blooms.)
Her new collection features six new exquisite cakes, each more beautiful than the last.
"I spent two years researching blooms," explains the celebrity cake designer, "dissecting them petal by petal, stamen by stamen and learning about each individual botanical quirk," which goes some way in explaining why these cakes are so accomplished.
The attention to detail and botanical knowledge translates into true works of edible art. And like all masterpieces, they take time. The Peony Garland cake - which features 40 cascading sugar peonies in a varying state of bloom - takes her team of top chefs over two weeks to create.
It may sound like overkill, but if you take into consideration that each peony will require at least 36 sugar petals, each individually rolled out by hand, cut, moulded and dried before being wired, dusted, brushed and assembled, it's a wonder it can all happen in just two weeks.
Peggy's floral magnum opus isn't limited to peonies either; it extends to sweet peas, roses, orchids and lily of the valley.
We can also happily report that they are as much of a treat for taste buds as they are for the eyes. The real challenge is picking just one design…
