Position your A3 black paper, portrait way round, on a table in front of you. Using a ruler, draw three vertical lines 3.5cm apart, from one end of the paper to the other. Then, with patterned-edge craft scissors, cut along the lines to create your paper ribbons.

Cut ribbon to match the size of your cake tier circumference. Write your names on one ribbon, and the wedding date on the other. Use crustal-headed pins to fix ribbons at the base of each tier.
