Annie Budgen, 29, married James Taylor, 27, at Axnoller in Dorset, on 3rd December 2016. She says:

Axnoller was our dream venue. We fell in love with its stylish elegance, and were won over by its amazing accommodation. With so many guests travelling from Scotland, we wanted rooms for them all.

I've modelled for bridal designer Sassi Holford several times over the years, and always knew I wanted to wear one of her dresses on my wedding day. Sassi customised a dress I wore at a show six months earlier, adding lace sleeves and Swarovski crystals for a touch of sparkle. I chose gold sequined Adrianna Papell dresses for my bridesmaids because I knew they would look fantastic in the December sunset. They were exactly what I wanted: classic, sophisticated and glitzy.

Our chef created a hearty menu for us, with nods to South Western and Scottish cuisine. Canapés included haggis bon bons and smoked salmon blinis, while Dorset crab, followed by lamb shank with rosemary potatoes, was served at the main wedding breakfast. We also arranged a Scottish ceilidh, which got everyone so hungry, the pizza company we hired for the evening ran out of ingredients for the first time ever!

My top tip: You can't guarantee the British weather, so make sure you have great lighting. We hired a specialist company and it made all the difference - they turned the venue into a winter wonderland.
