Kristy Fitzgerald, 33, married Adrian Melia, 34, at Clifton Inn in Charlottesville, Virginia, in the US, in September 2012. She says:
"I wanted the wedding to look romantic with a boho-chic feel. I'm very girly, so we used lots of soft pinks with pops of bright fuchsia against more neutral greys and ivory."
"Our florist has a background in architectural design, so she understood our vision perfectly. She grows everything on her farm and we used lots of seasonal flowers including dahlias, cosmos and zinnias."
"We reused all the flowers from the ceremony at the reception. My mother sewed fabric menu holders in different prints for the table settings, and we had seven different types of chair for an eclectic feel."
"Our favours were four-leaf clover lucky charms to celebrate Adrian's Irish roots. We attached them to wooden luggage tags and used them to create the table plan."
"Instead of a cake we had a strawberry shortcake bar. Guests could choose from different biscuits with toppings including fresh berries and white chocolate mousse."
"We had to source a tent the day before the wedding because rain was forecast and we had planned an outdoor ceremony. It poured for two hours in the morning, but as soon as I stepped on to the aisle it stopped and the sun began to shine. It was magical."
"My top tip: The very first thing we did was to hire our amazing wedding planner, Kate. We work long hours and live in New York, so we couldn't have done it without her."
