Spirits were high when Lisa Belford, 30, a PR executive, married Jamie Schwartz, 38, who works for a film company. Lisa says:

"I'd always wanted to get married at home. There's something so special about dressing in your childhood bedroom, then walking downstairs and getting married in your own back garden.

I was nervous about walking down the aisle, but I enjoyed it. My favourite moment was talking back down the aisle as man and wife, and Jamie picking me up and carrying me out to the theme tune of Raiders of the Lost Ark - his favourite film.

The reception was a huge party. We opted for chic ivory tones for the ceremony in the marquee. Then guests moved to another marquee where drinks and canapés were served while the party marquee was styled with lighting effects, and 8ft DJ tower surrounded by a feature bar, and a baby grand piano. Our guests were shocked by the transformation.

We had dancing between every course and music played a big part in the day. The roast beef was wheeled in to the Rocky theme tune and Daddy Cool was played for my father's speech.

Guests could order from the cocktail menu on each table. We had customized cocktails, including Lisa's Lychee and Lavender Martini, and Jamie's Mojito.

My advice to brides: Wear comfortable shoes for dancing!"
