Eleanor Sharman, 33, married Matthew Hastings, 33, at Camden Town Hall, London, followed by a reception at Cecil Sharp House on 23 May 2015. She says:
We are both from North London so we wanted our wedding to be London-based and a relaxed affair so it was easy and inexpensive for our guests to attend.
Camden Town Hall has a beautiful, grand marble staircase and a lovely circular council chamber big enough for all our guests. We wanted a venue for the reception which was unusual and fun, centrally located but with outside space, and, although a bit rough around the edges, Cecil Sharp House felt very personal and relaxed, untarnished by a myriad of weddings (there had only been one wedding previous to ours). It just felt right.
I bought my Carolina Herrera gown from a Browns Bride sample sale which I found out about on the Brides website. I wore my grandmother's Hungarian headdress that she made herself, which my mum altered for me.
We weren't allowed flames in the venue, so we used battery-operated tea lights, placed in mini jam jars decorated with gold and silver glitter on the tables.
The biggest element of the decorations was the pom poms. My mum, sister, friends and I spent hours handmaking pom poms out of wool to hang around the hall as bunting. They looked so great and people had fun trying to spot their pom poms.
My top tip: Delegate! I didn't delegate enough.
